Kisumu Water and Sanitation Company Ltd. (KIWASCO) has announced a scheduled water supply interruption for Sunday, November 16th, 2025. This is due to essential augmentation work on the main water distribution pipeline along Achieng’ Oneko Road.
The upgrade is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the city’s water supply system and will result in a whole-day supply interruption.
Areas Likely to Be Affected
Travelers and residents in the following areas are advised to store water in advance:
Hotels & Key Facilities: Sunset Hotel, Parkview Hotel, Imperial Hotel, Acacia Hotel, Avenue Hospital, Aga Khan Hospital, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching & Referral Hospital (JOOTRH).
Educational Institutions: Maseno University, Kisumu National Polytechnic, Kisumu Day, Boys & Girls Schools.
Major Estates & Areas: Milimani Estate, Nyalenda A & B, Nyamasaria, State House, the CBD, Lumumba Estates, Kibuye Estate, Kaloleni, Makasembo, Russia Quarters, and more (see full list in the original notice).
Action Required: Kindly store enough water ahead of the interruption to cover your needs for the day.
