Mark your calendars for a transformative cultural experience! The Naam Festival 2025 is set to take place from Thursday, 27th to Sunday, 30th November at the scenic Dunga Hill Camp in Kisumu.
What Does “NAAM” Mean?
“NAAM” powerfully means YES in Swahili and LAKE in Luo, perfectly capturing the festival’s spirit of affirmation and connection to East Africa’s greatest water body. This innovative festival is the vision of established creative operators from Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, united by a shared mission to conserve and celebrate Lake Victoria.
Inspired by Conservation and Culture
The festival draws inspiration from conserving Lake Victoria—known locally as Nyanza (TZ), Naalubale (UG), and Namlolwe (KE). These names reflect the deep cultural importance the lake holds for East African communities.
Under the inspiring theme #MyLakeMyFuture, NAAM Festival creates a cultural platform dedicated to:
-
Economic growth through creative industries
-
Environmental awareness and lake conservation
-
Regional cohesion as a model for African unity
