Kisumu Gears Up for Tourism Week 2025: A Celebration of Sustainable Transformation

Kisumu is poised to take center stage in the global tourism landscape as the County Government of Kisumu, through its Directorate of Tourism, officially launches preparations for Kisumu Tourism Week 2025. Scheduled from 24th to 27th September at the Kisumu Museum, the event will coincide with the United Nations World Tourism Day (WTD), amplifying Kisumu’s voice in the global dialogue on sustainable tourism.


Multi-Sectoral Collaboration

A recent planning meeting brought together key stakeholders, including:

  • Lake Victoria Tourism Association

  • County Commissioner’s Office

  • Lake Region Economic Bloc (LREB)

  • Academic institutions and private sector players

This collaborative effort underscores Kisumu’s commitment to a unified approach to tourism development.

Aligned with the UN’s 2025 theme, Kisumu Tourism Week will highlight:
